Natural Detox
Modern life has nothing natural about it. From the way we eat to the way we stress, we subject our bodies daily to levels of toxins that they weren’t meant to handle. It’s no wonder that a lot of new diseases have arisen as a result of all the chemicals and pollution that we ingest through food, air, and water.
Perhaps the worst part of all is that the medicine we take in order to fight illnesses and diseases is full of chemicals that cause side effects, get stored in our livers, and become toxins in the long run.
That’s why a lot of people are returning to a healthier and more natural lifestyle. And an important part of a natural lifestyle is getting rid of all the toxins via a detox treatment. Although there are several products that will do this, I recommend going through a natural detox treatment, which will keep you from ingesting even more chemicals into your bloodstream.
The first thing you should do for a natural detox is to stop drinking alcohol, or drink at least with less frequency or in less quantity. Your liver will thank you, as alcohol is one of the hardest substances to break down in your body. And as you know, drinking less alcohol has many other benefits that will help you in the long run.
A natural detox also means that you can’t smoke. Not from time to time, not a few, not one, not ever. Unlike alcohol, which can still be consumed from time to time in moderate quantities, smoking just isn’t unacceptable when following a natural detox treatment. There are so many polluting and damaging particles in a cigarette and its smoke that it completely nullifies the natural detox process. Not to mention that you’re putting yourself in risk of many diseases, like cancer and asthma.
Drinking water is a vital part of a natural detox treatment. Fortunately, this part is easy, cheap, and doesn’t require you to go to a gym or clinic. Just get eight glasses of water a day, which amounts to half a gallon, more or less. The more water your body has, the easier it makes the natural detox process of your body via the kidneys, the liver and the pores of your skin. A good side effect of drinking water is that it will make your skin look healthier.
Finally, engage in some physical activity everyday. It doesn’t have to be a 2 hour session at the gym. A small walk for 15 minutes will do. Of course, it would be much better if you engage at least once a week in a physical activity that makes you sweat, as sweating is part of your body’s natural detox system.
